Kiddo is doing her best to maximise the cosiness. She has found the key to a soft and warm place that makes her shiver with pleasure every time she opens her eyes. A harmless and frictionless existence, permeated by the scent of flowers and exquisite tedium. But why, then, does a flickering landscape of static, interrupted thoughts and displaced realities begin to loom, when everything is going so very smoothly?
Here, at the intersection of safety and restlessness, the boundary between fantasy and reality begins to dissolve. Something strange starts to take shape – a wondrous movement between escape and the present moment. With body and voice as her compass, Kiddo searches for something solid to hold on to. Existence slowly transforms into something unfamiliar, vibrating and elusive. An anachronistic confusion takes hold of Kiddo.
The work moves between paralysis and euphoria. An associative universe emerges where time, space and thought bend, and where what first appears as chaos may in fact reveal itself to be a way back to the body. Kiddo’s state – being everywhere and nowhere at once – slowly slips into a pulse: at times propulsive, at times tender, an attempt to remain in the world.
